Eid Al-Adha 2022

Eid Al Adha is one of the holiest holidays in Islam, which falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month in the Islamic calendar. Muslims all over the world observe Eid Al Adha with prayers and celebrations. This blog post will discuss how to manage your eating habits during Eid Al Adha to avoid weight gain. We are also happy to offer a 10% Eid discount for all new sign-ups to our personal training and life coaching services!

Dubai residents look forward to one of the significant Islamic holidays, Eid Al Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. It is a time when family and friends come together to celebrate. One of the main traditions during Eid Al Adha is to slaughter an animal, usually a sheep, and share the meat with the community.

For many people, Eid Al Adha is a time of feasting and indulgence. While it is okay to enjoy the holiday food, it is essential to be mindful of how much you are eating. Eid Al Adha is a time to celebrate with loved ones, not a time to overindulge and gain weight.

Here are some nutrition tips to help you prepare your body and manage your eating habits during the holiday

  • Reduce your food intake a few days before your four-day holiday

  • During the holiday, avoid snacking throughout the day and rather divide your food into two or three large meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

  • Drink a glass of water 10-15 min before your meals

  • Prioritize protein: fish, beef, chicken, lamb, and fibers: vegetables, fruits, nuts

  • Choose whole grains over processed carbs.

  • Limit your intake of Eid sweets!

  • Eat slowly and mindfully. Savor each bite of Eid food.

These tips are brought to you by personal trainer and life coach Andjela Tanasic.
