How long have martial arts played an essential role in your life?

Since I was a kid, I used to be passionate about martial arts, and I guess it started with the movies I watched. Also, I always wanted to know how to protect myself against older bullies in school! Self-defense is a great skill to have in a tough neighborhood.

How did you get into instructing?

I started teaching in 2014 after my good friend pointed out how I should utilize my knowledge and passion for the sport to create kickboxing coaching. I took his advice and have ever since enjoyed helping people understand contact sport better and the many benefits it offers for mental and physical health!

What type of clients do you usually work with?

I have coached both complete beginners and professionals in the sport. I don't keep track, but I am probably somewhere close to 100 students in both a personal training style and a group setting. My clients have been kids as young as five up to fifty years old! I think it's never too late to get into the gym, lift weights and do some kickboxing or boxing.

What would you say to someone attracted to kickboxing but somewhat hesitant to start?

It costs nothing to try and see how it goes! I have introduced this sport to many people who have fallen in love with it! It helps you build up your self-confidence and become more courageous, which can help you in so many aspects of life! It trains both your upper and lower body and is a great tool to improve fitness, and can also be used as a weight-loss tool!

Where can people work out with you?

My team and I offer home and gym kickboxing and boxing training sessions. Our central location is in Strong Combat and Lucky's Sports Club in Al Quoz, but we can cater to any location in Dubai!

How did you get into kickboxing?

Before I stepped into the kickboxing gym in Serbia, I tried different sports, but I didn't find myself in those sports.

But when I saw on TV that kickboxing is a straightforward stand-up fight, I decided to try the sport myself.

Have you ever competed in the sport?

During my almost 15 years of competing, I had around 70 amateur and professional fights, and I have changed five weight categories during my career.

Was it tough to transition from competitive kickboxing to coaching?

My second passion after fighting was always coaching. Especially I like to work with kids and young athletes! I also love seeing regular people improve their skills and self-confidence and learning how to protect themselves.

Who are your favorite kickboxers?

I like Mike Tyson from boxers, and my favorite kickboxers are Gokhan Saki and Badr Hary.

Any final words for our readers?

I have seen people become better fathers, better mothers, more successful at their jobs, better decision-makers, and so many other genuinely inspiring things! I recommend to everyone struggling with self-confidence to try out martial arts! It's incredible how learning a sport like a kickboxing, boxing, or MMA can transform a person.

Where can people work out with you?
