Deep Dive Into Everything You Need to Know About Emotional Intelligence And Human Emotions!
Most of us are familiar with the intelligence quotient (IQ), which measures a person's cognitive abilities and potential. On the other hand, emotional intelligence measures a person's ability to perceive, understand and manage emotions.
While IQ is an essential predictor of success in life, the emotional quotient (EQ) is an even better predictor. Emotional intelligence enables people to navigate the social world effectively, build strong relationships, and deal with difficult situations constructively.
There are many different ways to measure emotional intelligence. Still, one of the most popular is the Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EQ-i), which was developed by psychologists Dr. Reuven Bar-On and Dr. James D. A. Parker.
The EQ-i consists of a self-report questionnaire that measures 15 different emotional intelligence scales, including self-awareness, empathy, stress management, and social skills. While the EQ-i is a valuable tool for assessing emotional intelligence, it is essential to remember that emotional intelligence is not static. It is something that can be developed and improved with practice. Therefore, we always strive to assess their emotional intelligence and help them develop it further with our clients.

What is emotional intelligence/ emotional quotient?
Emotional intelligence (EI) is the capacity to be aware of and manage one's own emotions and the emotions of others. Some experts believe that emotional intelligence can be more important than IQ in predicting success in life. EQ helps us better understand and control our emotions and relate better to others. While emotional intelligence is something we all have to some degree, it can be developed and improved. So if you want to boost your EQ, you can do a few things.
Four tips for improving your emotional intelligence
1. Pay attention to your emotions.
The first step to managing your emotions is to be aware of them. This means taking the time to notice how you're feeling and why. When you can identify your feelings, it becomes easier to control them.
2. Practice emotional regulation.
Emotional regulation is the process of controlling and managing your emotions. It means learning how to respond to emotions healthily. When you can regulate your emotions, you'll be less likely to let them get the best of you.
3. Develop empathy.
Empathy is the ability to understand and share the emotions of others. When you have empathy, you're better able to see things from another person's perspective. This can help you build better relationships and resolve conflicts more effectively.
4. Practice stress management.
Stress is a normal part of life, but it can be damaging if not managed properly. When you're stressed, your emotions can get out of control. This is why it's essential to learn how to manage stress healthily.
Emotional intelligence is a skill set that can be learned and developed. You can boost your EQ and overall well-being by paying attention to your emotions, practicing emotional regulation, developing empathy, and managing stress.
Where are emotions stored in the brain?
The limbic system is responsible for processing emotions. It's a group of structures located in the middle of the brain that includes the amygdala, hippocampus, and thalamus. The hippocampus is responsible for memory, the amygdala is responsible for fear and anxiety, and the thalamus regulates emotions. These structures work together to process emotions. When you experience an emotion, the limbic system is activated and sends signals to the rest of the brain. This causes changes in your body, such as increased heart rate or sweating.
What does it mean when someone is right-brained?
The right brain is responsible for creative and intuitive thinking. It's the "creative" side of the brain. Right-brained people are often good at art, music, and other creative pursuits. They may also be good at problem-solving and thinking outside the box.
How many human emotions do we have?
Some experts believe there are six basic emotions, while others think there are up to 27. The six typically identified emotions are happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust. However, it's important to remember that emotions are complex and often defy easy categorization. Therefore, there may be more than six emotions.
What are positive and negative emotions?
Positive emotions are emotions that are pleasant and make us feel good. Examples of positive emotions include happiness, love, and pride. Negative emotions are emotions that are unpleasant and make us feel bad. Examples of negative emotions include sadness, anger, and anxiety. Both positive and negative emotions are normal and healthy. However, too much of either can be damaging. For example, too much happiness can lead to complacency, while too much sadness can lead to depression.
It's essential to strive for a balance of positive and negative emotions in your life. This means experiencing a wide range of emotions, both good and bad. By doing so, you'll be able to better cope with the challenges life throws your way.
What is body language?

What are the facial expressions?
The face is the most expressive part of the body. It can convey a wide range of emotions, from happiness and sadness to fear and anger. Expressing yourself with your face is an essential part of nonverbal communication as it can convey how we're feeling without using words.
There are a few different types of facial expressions. The most common are the six basic emotions: happiness, sadness, fear, anger, surprise, and disgust. These six emotions are conveyed through a variety of expressions. For example, the facial expression for happiness is often a smile, while the facial expression for sadness is often a frown. Facial expressions are a universal language that people can understand worldwide.

How to overcome a negative emotion?
This is something that lots of people are concerned about and often they don't know what tools to use. Therefore, we asked our Life Coach Andjela Tanasic to share her knowledge on how to overcome a negative emotion.
"When you’re starting to feel emotions rising, whether it’s frustration or anxiety, your best tool for staying calm is to breathe. If you find yourself getting emotional: Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose - hold it for 5 seconds while counting from 5 to 1 - slowly release it through your mouth - repeat several times if necessary. This 5 seconds technique can be used in de-escalating anger, stopping yourself from crying, shifting your emotional state by redirecting your thoughts, motivating or hyping yourself up, etc. This is how you improve your interpersonal skills and become a master in managing emotions." - Life Coach Andjela Tanasic
CONCLUSION
With all mentioned above, we conclude that emotional intelligence is far more critical than we usually think. Emotional intelligence can help you in many areas of your life, including your relationships, communication, and work performance. Communication with others is vital in both our personal and professional lives. Without emotional intelligence, it would not be easy to interact with others and understand their feelings.
